The Pistons vs. The Raptors

The Pistons vs. The Raptors

The 12-26 Pistons will be in Toronto to take on the 13-25 Raptors Friday night. It’s certain Detroit would like to get a win and snap their 5 game road skid.

The big story however is not the game, but the drama surrounding the proposed trade of Rip.  When Hamilton was a DNP Coaches decision in Wednesday night’s home game against Memphis he didn’t seem that happy.

Rip Hamilton “They didn’t tell me anything, I was definitely surprised.” “Do I think it was a level of disrespect or unfair or anything? I’ll leave that to you all.”

The longer this goes on the worse the whole situation is going to become. And while it looks like the whole ‘Melo deal and it’s drama and agenda’s probably won’t get done, it’s even less likely that another team will trade for Rip. Which could cause serious issues for the team and management.

As for the game, Ben Wallace is listed as doubtful. Who knows who is going to play or what the starting lineup will be.  This should be fun.

The Pistons will be playing a back-to-back with a game at home against the Kings.  If you need something to do Saturday night, what better plan than to go see the Pistons for as little as $10 dollars.

Tip off is at 7:00 pm and will be broadcast on Fox Sports Detroit . If you can’t catch the game on TV, follow it live over at NBA.com or on the radio over at WWJ 950 AM

The Trade might happen next week… So hopefully we will see the last games of RIP as a Piston…

So far so good for the Pistons in the dreaded 3rd quarter. Hope we can hold till the end of the game.

    We won!!

    Nice Game 4 Monroe, T-mac, Villanueva…

yes! the score was close in the end, but it was a quality win for the Pistons, played good enough for the game. Great games from TMac, Monroe, Stuck, and CV.

It’s a blessing in disguise that TMac the Bulls didn’t sign TMac. Chicago must be kicking themselves in the face for passing on TMac.

KEEP THIS UP D!!! GO PISTONS!!!

this was a boring game, neither team had much defense, but did you see that 3rd quarter? toronto went nuts on defense because detroit has a bad reputation. Not bad meaning good but bad meaning soft as a donut.

tmac got this win for us. That’s all there is to it. You know they say all this crap about how the team needs a leader team needs a leader I never believed it I always thought everyone does their job and things will work out well.

Team needs a leader. Wallace, Prince, Hamilton, Stuckey even coach Q they aren’t leaders. Thanks tmac.

love the new lineup. anyone else?

  8. gordbrown says:

I’ll love the new lineup more when Ben comes back and starts. He sets the tone, Wilcox provides punch off the bench. I think Wilcox will complement CV well. If TMac can’t handle the minutes, slide Gordon back in to start and have TMac back both guard spots. Course this is what I’ve been asked for for weeks. Still need to do something about offense falling asleep (lazy jump shots) in third quarters though.

TMac saved the day. We are 14 wins away in tying our last seasons record. I miss winning streak. Who doesn’t?

  10. James (Australia) says:

Great win. Quality performances from McGrady, Monroe, Wilcox, and Prince in particular. In fact, everyone did there job, and when everyone does that, I have to stop and wonder, “Why can’t we do this every night?” Because, if we did this every night, we would at least be in with a chance against everyone.

But, then you look a bit closer at how we won this one and you understand why we can’t do this every night. Quite simply, we were shooting our jump shots from our isolation plays. Prince does it almost every night, but the Pistons as a team only shoot this well once every week or so. When those jump shots aren’t falling – which happens regularly – we don’t have a backup plan or the staunch defence to keep us in the game until we start shooting well again.

McGrady knows a backup plan, “Give me the ball.” He looks better and better every night. His jump shot has been consistently better in recent weeks, but tonight was a terrific performance because of his drives to the hoop. Not just drives to the hoop for layups, but for dunks. Fantastic stuff.

Need to turn it into a two game winning streak tomorrow. We have a fun schedule coming up, not – Dallas, @Boston, @New Jersey (with or without ‘Melo, Rip, and Chauncey), Phoenix, @Orlando, Denver (with or without ‘Melo and Chauncey), @Miami, and @New York. Fun.
