The Pistons vs. The Nets

The 15-27 Pistons are in New Jersey to take on the 11-31 Nets Friday night. While it may be awkward for Rip Hamilton, who’s been sitting since the possible deal was on the table to send him to the Nets with ‘Melo and Chauncey, to be in New Jersey. He may find it even more troublesome if he sits on the bench any longer than he already has knowing the deal is dead.

Meanwhile, hours after New Jersey owner Mikhail Prokhorov announced the club halted its attempt to trade for the Denver Nuggets’ star, the Nets snapped a six game skid with a 103-95 home win over Utah on Wednesday.

Ben Wallace is still listed as questionable for Friday’s game against the Nets.

Keep a close eye out for Greg Monroe, and Chris Wilcoxs’ ability to contain Brook Lopez, who’s pretty much had the Pistons number since he donned a NBA uniform.

I really like how they have been competing these last couple of games. real nice to see some defense and ball movent.

  2. Enoc says:

    hopefully we’ll see Rip…

  3. gordbrown says:

Just to review, the last time these two teams met the Pistons were clinging to the lead when Devin Harris drove the ball and was stopped dead by Rodney Stuckey, Somehow the loose ball came back to Harris and he passed out to the top of the circle for a three that proved to be the game winning shot. It was widely noted at the time that Hamilton had a shot at the loose ball and made not effort to corral it. Of course, the correct call would have been a turnover on Harris but there was not whistle. A professional player should go until he hears a whistle. So if that is what we can expect from Hamilton, I for one hope that he doesn’t play

did Gordon ever made a shot as a Piston? Just askin

    • Rashit Falwless a.k.a go_0sebumps says:

Yep, this one half-court fastbreak floater 1on5 and one shot when the ball bumped on his head and went in occasionaly

  5. James (Australia) says:

Well in simple words: That sucked.

I tried being positive after the last game, but there were no positives from this one. We were flat from the get-go. I thought we worked our way into the game and were set up to move ahead in the third quarter when we tied it at 53, but then we got dominated by Humpries (nice), Morrow (remember him?), and the near-Piston, Petro (cool).

    This is Prokhorov’s fault.

  6. edt says:

    the better team won. depressing.

  7. Ryan Collins says:

I can’t believe the only 2 piston games I’ve gotten to attend this season, were both losses to the Nets. I’m seriously afraid to show up at MSG next Sunday, after we play Phoenix, Orlando, Denver, & Miami. We really needed a win tonight.

I’ve only been a Pistons fan for a measly 7 years (since Detroit decimated LA in the finals,) but I’ve been a die hard fan since & this is definitely the lowest of the lows for me. Maybe Rip, JJ, or Ben Wallace could have been the difference in this one, but who knows. And what the hell is going on with Rip, can someone please tell me? This is getting ridiculous.

  8. Ryan Collins says:

That article boggles the mind, Rashit. Who would have ever thought that we would need “Free Rip” T-shirts? Someone in the front office better have answers & soon…

  9. Leftos says:

Now, I wouldn’t normally say that for a professional basketball player who gets paychecks in the number of millions, but the Rip article really bummed me.

No matter the 3 wins (which are now followed by 2 losses), the trade is off, the “keep him out of injuries” excuse isn’t there anymore, and Richard Hamilton HAS been extremely loyal to this team, doing what he can, no matter his reduced performance this season.

Give him some minutes Q, FFS. Don’t keep that man on the bench, it’s just unfair. He’s trapped in a team that wants to get rid of him, and he can’t even do what he’s there to do, play some ball.

    • junior says:

Q never onfe said it was cuase of the trade, he said hes shaking thinge up. That is what hes done. The media speculated it was a front office idea to sit rip not anyone from the pistons actually said that.( sorry about the spelling im on my phone)
