Do you blame him?

Rip Hamilton“With all the speculation and the talk, you know what I’m saying, it’s one of them things where you wanted closure to the whole situation and for me, it’s different than everybody else’s situation. So, I just said, ‘Hey, you know what? Try to be the best professional’ and just come out and do what I got to do to stay fit and working out and things like that.”

“They sat me down and you hear all these different allegations on why they (sat) me down and things like that. It was crazy to me because all you want to do is play basketball, and I want to get out there and perform and that’s all I’ve been doing for as long as I’ve been in the NBA. It was just tough.”

On his benching: “I still ain’t spoke to nobody, you know what I’m saying? Nobody ain’t spoke to me about it. Just like when the whole situation went down, nobody didn’t tell me what was going on, you know? It’s kind of one of those things where you give your team for the last nine years your blood, sweat and tears and you never expect nothing like this would have happened, but it happened.”

I would just like to wish Rip Good Luck, there’s no loyalty in the Pistons organization…..All this negativity towards a guy who’s been the heart beat of this team…. I’m sure that you will get closure soon Rip and be back doing what you love doing…which is just playing basketball…And as far as the Pistons organization, until they get those idiots(Joe Dumars,Scott Perry) out of the front office this team is doomed…hopefully new ownership shakes up that “buffoonery” that’s been going on..

  2. I have been very critical of Rip this season, I do not think he has played well, nor do I care for the selfish ejections earlier either. And he has been a bit of a diva for awhile. But this whole situation stinks and, even though he is responsible for some of it, this is really not the way I care as a fan to see a guy who played such a huge role in bringing a Championship here treated.

The more Ben Gordon continues to borderline stink the harder this gets as well. I like BG but he is not exactly lighting the world on fire. He’s not exactly being used properly either but his play is almost making me wish they’d put Rip back out there.

The whole situation is just a mess. There is still half a season to go too. Are we really that naive to think Rip is just going to play the good solider and sit buried on the bench the rest of the year without continuing to grow increasingly resentful and mouthing his discontent to the media?

We all want closure too. Unfortunately, the trade fell through. It may take some time before another one comes up.

    BUY RIP OUT

we do that he will play tomorrow I guarantee it. It’s not like we are saving money having him on the bench. And if we cash him out for $10m a year instead of $13m, that makes the team more profitable for the new buyer.

I don’t blame him, he deserves better. But he no longer fits that well.
I see no point in benching him after the trade deadline. He still has value that should be used.
