The Pistons vs. The Suns

The 23-51 Pistons are hosting the 49-26 Phoenix Suns Friday evening at The Palace.
NBA.com Preview

The surging Phoenix Suns have already met the two teams with the worst records in the NBA on their five-game road trip, but they’ll be hard-pressed to find anyone playing worse than the Detroit Pistons.

Sadly, the statement it on point, and the injury report doesn’t make it any better.

Jason Maxiell (back) and Rip Hamilton (ankle) are both questionable, and you could add Charlie Villanueva’s peculiar status to that list as well. Though healthy, Villanueva hasn’t left the bench in six quarters, receiving his first “Did Not Play – Coach’s Decision” of the season on Wednesday.

Thw Swedes took over the Palace on Friday night, lots of fun.

So I was at the game tonight. It was a surprisingly big turn out, but it was Friday night, and I suspect I wasn’t the only one who had received free vouchers.

As for the game, it was like watching two high school teams. Maybe it was just my birds eye row 219 view, but it seemed like everyone was moving slower than usual. And it also seemed like the Suns didnt play their best. Detroit is in another realm of their own right now. But everyone was generally happy in the crowd, and I was surprised that not too many people left early. I think the expectations have become so low that there’s little room for disappointment anymore.

At least there’s really only one direction we can go from here…

Anyways, one step closer to catching Washington and Golden State :)

I was surprised at the turn-out too, when I looked at the boxed and it said over 22,000 people were in attendance my first thought was “that’s a lie”. But if you were there, and you say the place was packed I guess it was….odd.

yeah thetre was a lot more people then usual. 22000 ? thats nice hasnt been up there in awhile. the crowd went crazy on the fast break summers dunk!!! but then we let hill get a back door dunk in transition. o well its all about the balls right? GO PISTONS
