The Pistons vs. The Spurs

The 11-22 Pistons are in San Antonio tonight on the second game of a back to back to take on the 20-12 Spurs.

Just to put things into perspective, Detroit has not had a losing streak this bad since dropping 13 straight to conclude the 1993-94 season and finish 20-62. And for those of you not in the know….they went straight to the Draft lottery and chose Grant Hill.

Detroit has only won three games this season on the road and The Spurs have won six of their last seven at home.

mark my words, the pistons will WIN tonight.

  2. Chad says:

    John Wall bitches!

  3. Tycoon says:

As long as they don’t sleep in the second half, we have a chance.

  4. DEL says:

Villanueva is pathetic. that is our “best” player inside? really average offense and one of the worst defense I have ever seen

  5. Nolan says:

Once again Stuckey is Horrible, good way to close the half for him shots weren’t even close way to dictate the tempo pass the damn ball, Pisons need to cut wilcox and Charlie V.

  6. pistonsfan32 says:

eeeeeekkkk 60% shooting… where’s the defense? and why isnt JJ playing… WTF kuester!!

  7. Tycoon says:

Streak is not going to end tonight. Hopefully vs philly. I thought we could keep it close after a close 3rd quarter.

  8. Pablo says:

We were tied until 3 consecutive TO’s by Wilcox and then the wheels came off. It doesn’t take much for us to collapse these days.

  9. Buzz Killington says:

Gordon had lots of turnovers in the 3rd.. Total collapse in the 4th..

Do we need a new coach or somethin? or a new GM perhaps

  10. shawn says:

    another lose 11 straight sighhh

  11. Damn says:

Never trust a man who calls himself Sam I am. I appreciate your confidence though, however misplaced.

Hmmmm…… would trades even help us right now?

  12. edt says:

i am reminded once again that the spurs are a really good team. the only reason that they dont beat the lakers ever is that they are a bit older and can’t make it through the season without injuries. the spurs are paying $10 million a year for their 6th man manu ginobili, the best 6th man in the nba. we are paying the same amount for ben gordon. They also have antonion mcdyess everyone in detroit knows how good he is, and the spurs are paying $4 million a year for him. The same price that we pay for kwame brown. and of course they have tony parker for $12 million, while we got rip hamilton for the same amount.

the spurs are just straight up better. but they always look great early in the season. they will start to fade when the playoffs roll around. Ginobili, duncan are both in their 30s.

  13. sam jackson jr says:

i would lve to have laimbeer and mahorn back as “special advisors” and have them whup up on this team in practice

  14. Bobby says:

    tank the season

    go for lottery

  15. pistonsfan32 says:

what a total collapse in the fourth. We were right there, and then BOOM… Wilcox in, Big Ben out… and we are down 11. Kuester’s solution…. bring in Daye??? What the hell?
I have liked Q all year, but I was as annoyed with him tonight (if not more) than I would become with MC last year.

I don’t get it. We are down 11 with 4 minutes to play, and he takes out Rip, clearly the best player on the floor, and puts in Daye???? And what was up with JJ’s minute reduction?? iDKKKKKK… they are becoming too hard to watch :/ Totally gave this game away tonight.. arghhhhh

and someone posted something interesting over at mlive…. could they be benching JJ in order to give Tay more minutes to showcase him for a trade??? idkkk.. it was just too weird

  16. Tycoon says:

If we lose to Phily, I just dont know what will I say. its 34 games, just almost halfway but the season seem so long now. With the standing, currently 12th in East, I still think that we could get at least 8th spot up if we start winning.

  17. KleenGee says:

Rip had a great game, and without him, it would have been a blowout.

They were alright for 3 quarters. Some of the turnovers shouldn’t have happened, especially in the 4th with sloppy passes.

Spurs are a great team, and they were on tonight, so they deserved the win. (I was hoping that the game had to be postponed when that piece of the flooring came up.)

  18. Chad says:

    John Wall
    Stuckey
    JJ
    t-mac
    Amare

  19. rai_from_the_philippines says:

utah looks to be trading it’s player’s except for dwill. rafer alston just got waived from NJ. Joe D do something

    PG – Alston
    SG – Stuckey
    SF – JJ
    PF – Boozer
    C – Wallace

    ——–
    Charlie V
    Ben G
    Will B
    Daye
    Wilcox
    Brown
    Atkins

  20. The Fan says:

56% from the foul line. Thats horrible. HORRIBLE. Maybe Q should just have free throw shooting practice.

I wouldn’t get upset about the line ups. Q is probably just seeing what works well. The team is finally all back together and he’s just trying to come up with sets. We played really good against the Spurs who are without a doubt better than us. We caved at the end but showed potential throughout the first 3 QTRs.
