The Pistons vs. The Mavericks

Posted on November 15th, 2009 by Natalie Sitto

The 5-4 Pistons take on another old coach today at The Palace of Auburn Hills.  The Pistons face their third consecutive former head coach this evening when Rick Carlisle brings his 6-3 Mavericks into town for their only visit this season to Detroit.

Dallas has won four of the teams’ last five meetings, so this one wont be easy.

Still no word on Rip, but he’s got a thing or two to say about what Detroit has done without him in the lineup. Thankfully Ben Gordon is making us miss him less than we thought we would.

    Yep, a heartbreaker…

Stuckey was huge and Bynum – i even have no words to describe, he carried us all the way on both sides of the court, what a performance!

BigBen was GREAT, 10 boards, 3 blocks (huge one on Marion) and great D against Dirk in clutch moment, but Dirk was still able to make a tough shot

But the key was CV. Bad defence against Dirk, 2 fouls in a row, CV goes to the bench, Daye is in play, bad defence, missed shot and awful turnover.
CV has an awful 5 mins in the game when missed 2 straight shots, missed a free throw, fouled on Dirk (and one play) then took a shot and missed again. He played well all game long, but at the time MAVS tried to take control, CV played not good.

And something happened today with BG, 1 of 16 it doesn’t look like his % …

But we had a big chance, we played well, unfortunately didn’t get W

And i want to thank Jerebko, there was a moment when someone should step up and take Dirk, Jerebko forced him to air ball it.

Looks like we’re still playing with 7 players… Kwame, Jason, Chris, Dajuan and Chucky – hey, fellaz, wake up!!!

Without Rip, Tay, Stuckey(at the end), Gordon (couldn’t shoot) and having played last night against a rested playoff bound team that has had the wood over us for a bit, to lose by 5, having had a chance to tie it up, is a heartbreaker, but still a sign that we played great!
