If you didn’t know by now Ben Wallace will be back in a Pistons uniform come seasons start.
The Pistons are signing Ben Wallace for the veteran’s minimum of 1.3 million dollars. Such a bargain that he turned up on Taco Bell’s Value Menu.
Don’t believe me….Click Here to Check it out.

August 7, 2009 at 7:37 pm

August 7, 2009 at 8:40 pm
OH MY…sending this to everyone. Love it!
August 7, 2009 at 9:19 pm
You have outdone yourself with this one, Natalie. It’s hilarious!
August 7, 2009 at 9:38 pm
I’ll have two chicken soft tacos, one tostada, and a side of Ben Wallace – no corn rows. But please add extra fro.
August 7, 2009 at 9:59 pm
LOL….
August 7, 2009 at 10:22 pm

That’s amazing!
August 7, 2009 at 10:39 pm
oddly enough im on th pistons locker room store website and cant find a stuckey jersey….
August 8, 2009 at 12:05 am
That is very true.
I think Stuckey should keep the #3, though. Ben should take #30 or something like that if he wants to keep the 3’s in line.
August 8, 2009 at 12:18 am
“…spectacular free throw techniques”
Natalie, you’re a riot. this is so funny.
I love it that Ben reached out to Dumars to come back. This looks like a team now. I can’t wait for the season.
August 8, 2009 at 2:43 am
It’s cool all right.
But you guys seem to overestimate Ben. He’s nothing but a shadow from the old days.
August 8, 2009 at 8:55 am
I love the image, Nat! I’m also, quite happy about getting Ben back for the price we did. I don’t expect him to be anything close to what he was, but who could we have resonably hoped for at that kind of price?
August 8, 2009 at 9:17 am
Who’s overestimating? My bar is set low for Ben, bu we weren’t going to get anyone better for that kind of money.
August 8, 2009 at 9:50 am
hahaha Nat. Thank’s for that giggle first thing in the morning.
August 8, 2009 at 9:55 am
I agree Richie and I’m also happy about the mentoring he brings for the new young guys. That was what was upsetting me most about trading almost all of our older players, losing that mentoring that the older crew can provide.
August 8, 2009 at 10:27 am
how does 33 sound? this way he has double the 3’s, and Stuck can keep his jersey the way it is…
August 8, 2009 at 11:32 am
This really is where he belongs, and what a price… Its a steal
August 8, 2009 at 11:55 am
how is ben a value? he’s not worth the $20 bill in my wallet.
this is desperation at its finest.
August 8, 2009 at 12:47 pm
he brings heart to the team
August 8, 2009 at 2:07 pm
AI OWNS “Been” Wallace. PERIOD.
August 8, 2009 at 2:09 pm
Your own quote: “Ben Wallace SO CHEAP that he made the value menu”. Speaks for itself.

cv31 – 4-time Defensive Player of the Year BIG BEN is baaack! Reported: Pistons resign Wallace. I like it, brings hard-nosed defense & rebounding.
August 8, 2009 at 6:00 pm
This is disrespecting.. u dont forget how to play basketball.. and u also shouldnt forget the days when this guy was a beast and the best defensive player in the league . you got him for 1M per year.. He is a better defender than shaq n look at how shaq earns per year.. he deserves more imo.. just be happy cuz u will see some defense inside this year.. maybe not those athletic moves and blocks from the past.. but the big ben is always a presence on defense .. period
August 8, 2009 at 6:23 pm
Jonas Jerebko has #33.
August 8, 2009 at 6:24 pm
AI sucks.
August 8, 2009 at 7:36 pm
natalie, when ben plays his 1st game at the palace this regular season, can you show the footage of him being introduced/ brought into the game? would love to see how the crowd reacts to him.
August 8, 2009 at 8:02 pm
you suck.
August 8, 2009 at 8:48 pm
ROFLCOPTER
August 8, 2009 at 9:54 pm
does this mean another season of “Hack a Ben”
August 8, 2009 at 11:10 pm
Welcome home big fella! we missed you!
August 9, 2009 at 12:47 am
He won’t play starter minutes, so that shouldn’t really be a big issue.
August 9, 2009 at 1:11 am
We can certainly use some age/experience on a team with an average age of 25. I say the future looks bright.
August 9, 2009 at 1:12 am
Name one player better for that price?
August 9, 2009 at 1:20 am
Correct
August 9, 2009 at 2:49 am
I honestly believe we can get maybe 5 rebounds, 1 block, 2 points a game for 10-15 minutes a game from Big Ben. THIS IS AWESOME!!!!
August 9, 2009 at 9:41 am
You seem a little too pumped for numbers like that lol, but if he can rebound decently that will be good because as it is now, there isn’t many rebounders on the team.
August 9, 2009 at 11:50 am
well, since Jerebko is a rookie, he can change his number… he should have some respect for Big Ben, especially since he’s the “rookiest” of all the other players (he was drafted last this year)… i just think Stuck should keep his number, Big Ben’ll take 33, and Jonas will take something else… how bout 83… wasnt that CWEBB’s number
August 9, 2009 at 11:58 am
Chris Webber was #84 with the Pistons.
I understand what you’re saying, but it’s not like Ben actually had #33 before.
The terms Ben left on last time weren’t so good, either.
I definitely won’t expect him to have #33.
August 9, 2009 at 3:43 pm
+1
August 9, 2009 at 3:43 pm
If we could get AI for 1.3 million I would say sign him immediately, otherwise, this comparison is fruitless
August 9, 2009 at 3:44 pm
And “Hack A Ben” wasn’t even that much of an issue anyway. It’s not like a missed Wallace freethrow killed a championship or anything.
August 9, 2009 at 4:49 pm
Every play in a game matters. It’s not like one or two plays or free throws at the end of a game are all there is to it. No one shot really wins a game, or loses it. Most people don’t consider that.
August 9, 2009 at 9:36 pm
This only goes to show that Ben will play for any team than nothing. He left us for better money before now he’s coming back just to save his career.
August 9, 2009 at 10:35 pm
So, Nat- I’m curious. Will you be making a new Ben toon or just photoshopping the hair off the old one?
August 10, 2009 at 12:10 pm
Love the post. Not sure how i feel about Ben Wallace, but for 1 million….worth a shot…makes me feel good that the Bulls paid him 15/yr.
August 17, 2009 at 1:14 am
Twelve million dollars to leave Detroit is a good business move by Ben Wallace. Moving Chauncey Billups was a good business move. When I read of how jilted people are with Ben Wallace for leaving I scratch my head. The guy is a four time all star, a four time defensive player of the year and an NBA champion. Anybody think he won’t make the hall of fame? Anyone think his number won’t be retired? Come on now. So many bitter haters out there.
