Pistons vs. Timberwolves

Posted · 23 Comments

The (24-19) Pistons are in Minnesota to take on the red hot (16-27) Timberwolves, winners of three in a row making them 10-2 this month. That translates into the hottest team in the NBA right now.

The Pistons will try to avoid losing a third straight tonight while trying to find their way since coach Curry implemented his new starting lineup.   A revenge win against the Timberwolves would be a welcome distraction, especially after the 108-80 beating they took from them at the Palace this season.  A game, that in my opinion, started the downward spiral that they have been in for quite some time.

A win tonight may also give Detroit some confidence when they host the Celtics and the Cavaliers later this week.

Sheed Says

“We’re ready for the challenge, though it may not look like it from what our record states.”

Wallace said neither he nor his teammates are out to make any statements. But if you are asking him if he still considers the Pistons a legitimate contender in the East, the answer is yes.

“Guys on this squad have heart,” he said. “We’re not giving up and we’re not giving in. We’re not thinking about tanking the season just because we lost a couple of games or because we’re not where we want to be right now.

“This is going to be a good challenge for us and I think we’re ready.” Via The Detroit News

Good/Bad News:

  • A win tonight will give the Timberwolves their first Pistons season sweep since the 2003-04 season.
  • Ryan Gomes is coming off a season-high 22-point game.
  • Minnesota is 11-7 all-time at home against the Pistons, but has not won against Detroit at Target Center since January 2005.
  • Curry liked the energy at Tuesday’s practice after giving the team a day off Monday.

Tip off is at 8:00 P.M. and will be locally televised on FSN. If you can’t watch the broadcast, tune into 1130 AM WDFN The Fan.  Can’t do either? Follow the game on NBA.com.

Stupid Curry, let tye lead slip away before calling a time out…
If, that hard minded than we are better without it.
I, know hpow Curry works. He makes a plan how he is going to play the whole game and never make any changes depending on current situation.

  5. Whatsittoya says:

WOW I cant beleive we are strugglin against Minnesota.

  6. Sheed333333333333333 says:

y cant u bleieve that we are struggling against the holders of theb est record in 2009? Nothing hard to believe. We are actually doin good to say in the game. Its just BIG AL killin and Kevin Love showing who he really is. Rip is just pissed cuz hes of the bench, everytime he got the ball, he just shot, and missed like the first 6 attempts, you can tell he doesnt want to pass right now and jus jack up shots, even though he had nice dishes

  7. Whatsittoya says:

After losing Chauncey its like we have lost our beating soul.

  8. Sheed333333333333333 says:

  18. Whatsittoya says:

    Finally a Pistons win!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

  19. Slim Shady says:

look what happens when we have AI on the court for around 40 minutes… that’s the way he’s use to playing and i believe everyone plays better when he’s out there consitently… when he only plays in the 20s we don’t do good… we need him playing high minutes a game…. great win considering our recent stretch… FINALLY THE OLD SHEED… HE”S SO BEAUTIFUL WHEN HE’S ON, UNSTOPPABLE. THAT A BOY SHEED BIG PLAYS DOWN THE STRECTH… HE’S THE MOST IMPORTANT PLAYER WE NEED TO DO WELL… WHEN HE BRINGS HIS ENERGY, WELL, IT’S INFECTIOUS

  20. Chris says:

Good game. But Curry didnt use his bench enough. Next up:Celtics.

  21. andrew says:

yeh curry is a retard, stop playin sheed for 40 mins, only tay and AI should play more than 38 mins a game, urgh, this is frustrating, good game but start using the bench more…oh how are we excited on a win against Minnesota? times have changed in detroit

  22. Sheed333333333333333 says:

u guys are pathetic, det won, when you gonna stop blaming curry

  23. Nik says:

    Curry sucks…
    When will he learn rotation.
He will probably take all 82 games to figure it out.
Thats if Joe D. lets him stay that long.
