Pistons vs. Raptors

Posted · 19 Comments

The Pistons take on the 16-27 Raptors tonight at The Palace.  This is the first game with the new lineup so lets hope that Detroit starts looking like Detroit again.

Good News: The Pistons haven’t lost to the Raptors at home since April 2, 2003.

Bad News: That comes when we see the final score of this one.

Tip off is at 7:30 P.M. and will be locally broadcast on FSN . If you can’t watch the broadcast, tune into 1130 AM WDFN The Fan, with pre-game coverage starting at 6:30 P.M. with Matt Dery. Can’t do either? Follow the game on NBA.com.

AI better play hard. I’m not talking about aggressive I’m talking about hard. Rip took the demotion. But I better see AI go after loose balls and stuff. And I swear he better play some defense for once.

One person no one has talked about is Tayshaun. I wonder how many shots he’s going to take and is he going to pass the ball too.

  4. Kian says:

tay is never in the spotlight, ppl usually don’t talk about him much, but still he is so important…

  5. Amber says:

I hate that Rip is no longer starting. Rip is my favorite player, and he’s too good to not be a starter. Since Joe has ruined everythng, at this rate, Rip deserves to be traded and be on a team that can actually win…maybe even be with Chaunc again. We’re already dying……down 8. This is just a mess. We need Chauncey, we need Rip, and we need a CENTER. It isn’t that damn hard.

  6. Amber says:

Our bench is better than our starters. Will Bynum is a fabulous pg, and JMax is amazing….Tay never stops playing, Rip is the best, and Dice is great. I’m enjoying watching them more.

  7. Amer ican Prince says:

Amber I agree, when I looked on the court and saw them together, I was like I really, really like that group/ Even more than the first group. And everyone seems to be rallying around Rip tonight, and passing a lot more.

  9. Th3 Answ3r says:

I cant remeber the last time Pistons won by 15+ points =P.
Lets see if this game wasn’t a floop. Lets see Fridays game against the Mavs.

Wow, what a novel concept. You play the RIGHT kind of starting lineup, play your bench, and you get better defense, more rebounding, and you win the game. That sure was hard to get through Curry’s head for being so obvious. I love the fact that this was basically a blowout at the end, but it still angers me that this change took so long to happen. If this would have been done soon after AI got here how much better could they be right now, and what would their record be like?

Was it just me or was everybody kind of juiced up tonight. I think the entire team knew that this change needed to happen, and hopefully they’ll play better because of it.

    Nice Win!!!!!

  11. The Fluidics says:

Loved the win tonight, Prince played great, Max was a beast.

About Rip though. He didn’t do his pre-game antics in the corridor with the team, punching their chests. When they ran out of the tunnel, Rip was nowhere to be seen, he was the last to the court, walked out by himself. His true colors are showing a bit, and they aren’t pretty. Still, he plays pretty well with Bynum, hopefully Coach will keep this one going for a while.

  12. Melodeath1221 says:

FINALLY MAX IS PLAYING THE RIGHT WAY. this was the first game all season long, where hes played good, and his first game in a long time where hes played amazing. If Max can get half that a game and when AI Rip get it together, We’ll be dangerous come playoff time. OH yeah and to thoes of you who think Max should be a starter, i disagree hes better Eating Babies off the bentch.

  13. Kyle C. says:

Going big definetly seemed to work… at least for this first game.
MC should have noticed that small ball did not work a long time ago. He must feel pretty bad that the first game going big with everyone healthy (except Mike Abdenour) was a blowout. Double double from Maxi, 25 out of Tay, Stuck played great and great defense.
Lets hope that against the Mavs we play this good on national television.

  14. BVN says:

Finally Rip is where he belongs and Tay can start at his true position. I really like the look of this starting line up.

  15. pistons 4 life says:

You have to think that even though he pretty much volunteered Rip feels pretty bad coming off the bench. I’m all for the move whether it was him or AI, but hopefully he’ll get used to it. I liked what Greg Kelser said after the game, “He can’t feel like his role is diminished, or that he’s not important to the team anymore”. Who knows what’s happening with Rip, but hopefully he’ll be punching people before games again soon.

The bench is why this game went the way it did. Don’t know why they haven’t sniffed any playing time the last couple of weeks? Seemed pretty obvious to me that they needed to be playing more.

Hopefully they’ll start to turn the corner, but if this doesn’t work and they continue to struggle I think they’re done for the year.

  16. ryanr says:

Although I don’t like Rip coming off the bench, I think this would pay off come play off time coz, Rip will not be fatigued come April, and hopefully, May and June. I believe he’ll take over the quarters in the playoffs when the second unit comes in.

But in between now and then, they should practice more with this line up.

    GO PISTONS!!!

  17. Pistonomics says:

just a suggestion but is the bench out preforming the starting line up
i think curry should inject dyess into the starting lineup

  18. VJ says:

Wow, Im glad we got all that complaining out of the way in the first couple comments. Props to MC, for finally figuring something out, Props to anyone who never complained about the way things were going, and HUGE PROPS to Maxi, for his multiple “dyno-mite dunks”

  19. AI,makeathreeyoudumbass says:

I hate AI. He hugs like he’s got a boner and doesn’t want to touch anybody
