Pistons vs. Kings

Posted · 25 Comments

The Pistons will host the 8-24 Sacramento Kings tonight at The Palace. The Pistons have won 5 of the last 8 against the Kings and are on their longest winning streak of the season (5).

The Pistons will be without Rip Hamilton and possibly Rasheed Wallace and Antonio McDyess as they try to extend their streak to six games.

Let’s hope something Amirzing happens like it did against the Nets. Amir has really stepped up his game since being put back in the starting lineup.

Detroit is holding its opponents to 40.1 shooting and 83.8 points during its five game winning streak. That won’t be easy with Kevin Martin in the lineup for The Kings. Sacramento was without Martin the last time these two teams faced each other.

Meanwhile, the Pistons assign Alex Acker and Walter Sharpe to the D League. Surprising move with Rip out of the lineup right now.

Tip off is at 8:00 P.M. and will be locally broadcast on FSN. If you can’t watch the broadcast, tune into 1130 AM The Fan where you can catch our friend Matt Dery with the Pre-Game starting at 7:0. Can’t do either, follow the game on NBA.com.

Leave them in the comments or Chat Live during the game.

I will be enjoying the game with The Winners of the I’m Sheed contest in The Pistons.com Suite. Good Times!

And if rip is having a good time on the bench-

Good luck Pistons, Enjoy the game contest winners, and lets go for the 6th

  2. ski dp3 says:

Hopefully Sheed, Dyess, and Rip get better.

What does this D League business mean for us? Less seats on our bench to keep warm. Apart from the benefit of those two, how does it affect us as a team?

  3. Whatsittoya says:

Lets see if the Pistons can beat a .250 record team. Without Rasheed, Rip, and Dyess.

  4. ryan says:

He is playing these players way to many minutes. I dont care if they are short 3 players. Stuckey with 22 minutes and iverson with 21 minutes in the first half is way to much. I wonder why so many players are hurt? haha that is the answer.

  5. altan says:

    fun facts:
jason maxiell airred a free throw

they showed the wave at the palace, on camera. it was so sick,

    UPLOAD NAT PLZ,

  6. ryan says:

also, the minutes is the reason they can’t hold on to a freaking lead. When your playing a team with 5 minutes to go that has no one over 35 minutes, a team that has 3 guys over 40 is going to be alot more tired.

  7. ryan says:

in the end, i guess it was what they needed to win. Hope hamilton wallace and mcdyess can be back soon!

  8. ski dp3 says:

Maybe, but Stuckey’s young and wants to play. AI’s not quite as young but he’s devoted too. Tayshaun’s used to it, and I’ve thought Amir had good stamina. Maxiell can’t be his explosive self for 40 minutes, no.

    Remember we were short-handed.

  9. Richie says:

Very short handed- which speaks volumes of these winning streak. I’m very pleased with how the young fella’s have stepped up.

  10. Matt says:

Amir was a beat tonight. Stuckey couldnt get 40? Laziness I tell you, laziness.

My dad thinks that we should trade Stuckey for a superstar center. Mi IQ lowered when I heard that statement.

  11. pistons01 says:

marbury to boston? wow.. that is surprising. hopefully he can go in there and ruin some team chemistry. :-) Go Pistons!!

  12. The Fluidics says:

Best Palace crowd since Ben’s first game here with the Bulls. The spontaneous Stuckey chants and the 1984 wave action were great. I’ve noticed that since Rodney is now the team leader that the Pistons have been missing, there is much more energy in the building.

Thanks again to Nat and the Pistons for hosting the events tonight, I had a good time meeting folks and seeing the sights. Glad the weather played along for you out of towners too.

Here’s to breaking the curse this sunday.

  13. altan says:

ya pistons01 i heard tht too,

well everytime i see rajon rondo play, everyonce in a while i watch celtics when NOTHING is on, all i see is him missing layup after layup shot after shot, worst free throw percentage of all point guards last year,

i would rather have marbury, but he hasnt played basketball in over a YEAR!, i heard on espn i think

  14. Tay Baby says:

I was at this game and it was great!!!!
Had a blast. Stuckey was on fire!!!
And Tay had a wonderful night as well!

  15. altan says:

i think will bynum is a great player and all but i would rather have alex acker in for will bynum
i think he has a better shot, but not as great drive, and i guess better d couz will is not the tallest guy in the NBA

  16. Richie says:

How can Boston possibly affor Marbury?!

  17. mr big shot says:

i think they think they are gunna get him for cheap.. but idk maybe hes takin a pay cut because if he gets bought out he will take it straight to the bank

  18. mr big shot says:

of yeah and dont yall think its good that were winning without sheed the longer we are without sheed the less techs he gets in this time

  19. ryanr says:

good thing we won, although I was expecting Afflalo and Max to have teared up the opposotion tonight. Oh well, a win is a win

  20. augustslady says:

To close for comfort, but still good!
Now lets hope the curse of the sunday
game does not raise it’s ugly head!!!LOL

  21. hi says:

didn’t starbury play with garnet in minnesota????

  22. Pistonsbaby01 says:

Natalie could you please put up the new video of Teammates aired during halftime??

    Thanks a lot.

  23. Whatsittoya says:

Once again Stuckey proves the Pistons can win and play good without AI. Stuckey gets 2 to 3 minutes less than AI and he dishes out 4 more assits than him and 15 more points than him. Also he shows he can step up in critical times and help his team win. Stuckey also had a shooting percentage of over .500 while AI had Below .500. Amir Johnson once again for like the millionth time gets the 2nd or 3rd best shooting percentage, first in rebounding on his team and 2nd in both teams, as well as tied for first place in the whole game with blocked shots. Yet they only let Amir shoot 8 shots which 5 of he made meaning they did not give him the ball much. Kwamae Brown only got one shot which he made making his shooting percentage 100%. Tay is doing good for the best part. He got 23 points, 3 blocked shots, 10 rebounds, 1 assit, and a steal. Also the 2nd best Shooting Percentage. Maybe that trade rumor got him playing good. Iverson not too bad of a game. But remember this was a .333 record team. (Way below .500).

  24. pistons 4 life says:

Marbury did play with KG in Minn. but he’s apparently already said that he wouldn’t care if they picked him up. I hope they do and then he ruins their chemistry.
