Pistons vs Spurs

December 2nd, 2008 Written by: Natalie Sitto

The Pistons will try to get back on track today in San Antonio. The Piston have lost three of their last five game and still look like a team in transition. To make matters worse, coach Curry is calling out his players and had to explain why.

“Curry said Monday that he expects his starters will continue to play fewer minutes than they are used to.
“Young guys haven’t played,” he said. “At the end of the year, guys are tired. Y’all tell me all the excuses — I’ve read all of them over the years. We’re going to play our young guys. If our young guys are playing well, they’re going to stay in the game. They deserve it, they’ve earned it, and that’s what we’re going to do.”

The Spurs have won three in a row at home, but Detroit both their meetings last season and has won five of the past seven matchups.

Tip off is at 8:30 and will be broadcast on FSN with the pre-game festivities starting at 8. If you can’t watch the television broadcast, tune into 1130 AM The Fan. Can’t do either, follow the game on NBA.com.

Sounds like he learned something from Sunday’s loss. I’ve said before that I don’t care for the record as long as we learn from our mistakes and show it in the playoffs.

Yeah, seems like M.C. means business.

On the McDyess matter; He can’t sign with Detroit again until the 3rd (tomorrow). So we can see him back in the Red, Blue and White on Friday…. Right?

You know I’m sitting here watching the game and watching Stuckey and J-Maxx play very well. If we do not win this year it will entirely be because of Allen Iverson. And it’s a shame because Sheed will be gone next year :-( . I really do hope it works out in the end but I cant help but say please make A.I. the sixth man with Stuckey starting with Rip. Thats too bad we didnt pick up Hunter earlier then we could have him back up stuckey and Iverson back up Hamilton. I dont know thats just what I thinking right now…

With Bynum playing well as the third point, Curry should move him up to the first point backup, and start Sheed at center/forward, Stuckey at point, Rip and AI at guard, and Prince at forward. AI is more comfortable not playing point, Rip would be more comfortable with a true point. However, this would never happen, because Curry is a bad coach, and blaming not winning the championship soley on AI is overlooking about 2 dozen other problems. This team wasn’t going to win this year, Chauncey or AI. 08-09 is a rebuilding year, and the leagues best kept secret.

ronnie d., i completely agree with you. bench AI and start stuckey. as much as we would like that to happen it won’t becaus eof who AI is. We were up by 6 until his dumb ass came in the game and the Spurs came back and took the lead. Also, Sheed needs to wake up and play better D. Duncan is killing us and Kwame cant guard him. blahHhHhH they better win!!

2nites win was nice. it seems like whenever this team turns it on and picks up the intensity on D they go on a massive run and can beat anybody… im gettin sick of seein of you detroit fans hatin on AI, give the man a chance before you throw in the towel on the season. ive been watchin this man play night in and night out since his georgetown days, so ive witnessed the magic he can work on the hardwood, and he i know for a fact he can take this team to the next level if hes given the chance.. but he has to play, i know stuckey is a talented/up and coming player but if you wanted to focus more on his developement than winning this season you wouldnt have brought in iverson.. ai is a liability out there if he’s not involved because of his lack of D and his inability to play the game without being the main focal point because as long as he’s playing hes been the man with the ball in his hands. Curry, play his ass 40 min a game and let him learn how to fit in to this system, i can guarantee u will not benefit at all playin him 25-30 min a game, give him the reigns or trade him, hes not a role player and never will be… 15-0 this month, i looked at the schedule and its much softer than it was the past few weeks, if this team allows AI to be AI, i gauranSHEED you will not be disappointed.. lighten up ppl, its still early

17 pts in 15 minutes. when he wants to be, he’s the best big in the game.
