Point for discussion- who had the better “first nba basket”, Amir or Walter? Amir had the windmill jam versus minnesota (i think). Both a memorable!
Yup, that’s how you start your career as a Piston. Must have learned from Amir.
That dunk was delicious
I’m partial to the windmill - sorry, Walter.
I should revisit the Amir Dunk…I think he’s got to have that won.
The dunk and the game made the trade a lil to stomach. Seeing the dunk and Nynum play makes you think the youth playing–doing things like drivng to the hole and banging like Sharpe– its good to have a mix of Piston Ball and Highlight film ball
im getttin the vibe that the players arent fillin this trade they want chauncey i dont think they are gunna like it
oh yea and who is the new captain is it sheed or rip
That dunk was, dare I say it….
Herrmann-esque.
I got to go with Walter’s first basket, just because he dunked on somebody’s head.
Amir’s was sweet too, but he was wide open.
Great dunk by Sharpe, but windmill dunks are difficult dunks by themselves, let alone getting one in a game. That dunk was also epic because Darko got a steal and an assist on it. That makes it rarified.
before the trade the 3 captains were rip tay and billups
“No homecoming for Dyess” on DBB.
Amir;s dunk was on a break against nobody.
Any time you take the ball at the guy to the hoop doing reverse jam, it’s a winner.
I posted my little highlight video of the game.

While Walter’s first two official NBA points were special, I’ve seen many players do that dunk. On the Pistons in recent years, I can think of several players who have done the same dunk: Carlos Delfino, Chris Webber, Tayshaun, and Jason Maxiell to name a few. How many Pistons have done a windmill in a game? Heck, how many times have you seen a windmill dunk in a game? Vince Carter did a bunch (and sometimes on opposing players which was spectacular) but the windmill is such a rare gamtime dunk I still argue that Amir’s first points are more memorable.

Walter Sharpe dunk in college looks a lot like vintage Portland ‘Sheed.
