Well written Richie. I posted this on the forum, but I wanted to comment on the fact that even though our starters were on the floor until the final buzzer sounded, we still managed to keep the minutes light. I am hopeful that Coach Curry will continue with the deep rotations as we go along, because I think it'll be greatly beneficial to our team in the long run.

I very much agree with your assessment of Rip. The past 2-3 years he's done more 1-on-1 stuff, and while it adds a nice dimension to his game, he should only use it as a tool to mix his game up, in the same way that he only shoots the 3-ball now and then to give the defense different looks.

Good win though, good start.

Positive: MC's rotation was delicious. Everyone played under 35 minutes and all but 2 players got at least 13.5 minutes. I loved what I say from Hermann too. Mr. Big Shot is STILL Mr. Big shot. Tayshaun was more agressive.

Negative: if the Pistons would have lost this one there'd be a lot of people complaining about Rip trying to force his own shot rather than coming of screens ant letting the PG find him. I think he's at his weakest when he tries to create for himself, and I saw a few too many flashes of that tonight.

So/so: Rasheed had an off night shooting, but still proved valuable in the post. His presence still makes him capable of slowing down the game when we have a lead and getting "easy" points by finding cutters or getting to the stripe. He also showed us he still has some hops left.

I'm definately not ready to throw Kwame under a bus yet. I think he's out to prove some things now and that's not the best way to play on this team. He's forced up two early shots as soon as he got the ball, both of which ended badly. The plus side here is that it's early in the season and MC yanked him early for it- holding him accountable, as promised.

Tonight should be an interesting game and hopefully an indication of things to come. The pacers aren't a playoff team, but an underrated one nevertheless. Alot of the time we've been found guilty of not taking these kind of games seriously, so I'm looking for Curry to get the boys mentally ready for tonight. I think tonight will tell us alot about Curry, who will determine whether we're a conference finals team or a championship team. Anything less than a blowout i would class as a failure.
